As the pellets move forward, the flame is drawn up through the center of the pellets — creating a “fire storm” in the breech area for ultra reliable ignition. SEALED PIVOTING BREECH DESIGN The Z5’s unique action operates by using the forward motion of the trigger guard lever to pivot the breech block downward, allowing easy access to the 209 primer pocket. This closed breech design seals the 209 primer away from rain, snow or sleet. SUPER RELIABLE The Z5 is a closed breech muzzleloader, which protects the 209 primer from foul weather. Its sealed breech plug is specifi cally designed to avoid the problem of crushing Pyrodex® Pellets, which could cause a misfire. MAGNUM CAPABILITIES FOR LONG RANGE SHOOTING The Z5 can handle 150 grains of Black Powder or Pyrodex equivalent, or three 50 grain Pyrodex® pellets. AVAILABLE IN REAL TREE HARDWOODS ONLY	Thompson Center ENCORE MAGNUM CAPABILITIES The Encore® 209x.50 Magnum, with a 26" barrel of 4140 rifle grade steel is designed to handle Magnum charges of up to 150 grains of black powder or Pyrodex® equivalent (or 3 Pyrodex® Pellets). Using T/C’s Mag Express Sabots and a 250 grain Shockwave™ bullet with 3 Pyrodex Pellets, it produces a muzzle velocity of 2203 ft./second and it is lethal out to 200 yards! REMOVABLE UNIVERSAL BREECH PLUG The Encore® 209x.50 Magnum features a stainless steel universal breech plug which is easy to remove. This universal breech plug allows for quick, reliable ignition with both loose powder or Pyrodex® Pellets. Its special shoulder sealing design prevents fouling from making its way into the threads and because there is no striker, all fouling is contained in the barrel. CLEANING IS EASY Cleaning the Encore 209x.50 Magnum is easy. You merely remove the barrel, remove the universal breech plug and clean from either the muzzle or the breech end. UNEQUALLED VERSATILITY The Encore® 209x.50 Magnum features an interchangeable barrel. The barrel can be removed in seconds, and there is an array of centerfire barrels available for almost any application; from .22 Hornet for varmints and up to 405 Win Mag for larger game. There are also 20 gauge and 12 gauge barrels available for upland birds, waterfowl, turkey and deer.
